Platt College’s Web Campaign class (term 5) of our Web Design program focuses on planning and deploying a corporate web site from ground up, as well as learning business and marketing strategies for both corporate and freelancing means.
One emphasis of the class is also placed on team cooperation, and students are often placed through a ‘Code-a-thon’ to test their communication skills and teamwork. Students are placed into groups of two or three and instructed to develop a Photoshop site layout mockup in the span of about 3 hours.
A great introduction to the stresses of production in a real-time environment, this is a high-stress time for the students, and helps to understand the importance of planning and communication within a team, as if one partner struggles, the project will show it.
Students compete for some “Platt Swag”, which consisted of Starbucks Giftcards and Platt hoodies This contest’s winners were Adam Batimana and Ferran Nicolls. Great job Ferran and Adam!
