San Diego Rep and Rachelle Martin

For the past two years, Platt College San Diego students’ have been designing all of the marketing materials (posters, brochures, postcards & programs) for San Diego Repertory Theater located in Horton Plaza. Term 4 student, Rachelle Martin, was chosen to design the poster for the play “Restless Spirit” by Allan Havis. “Restless Spirit” will be playing from Jan. 28 – Feb. 19, 2006. Mr. Havis was so impressed with the poster that he approached her to design the cover of his upcoming book.About the REPThe REP has established a reputation for creating innovative productions of the classics. Recent revivals include Tennessee Williams’s A Streetcar Named Desire, Arthur Miller’s Death of a Salesman, Edward Albee’s Who’s Afraid of Virginia Wolf?, Shakespeare’s The Merchant of Venice, Goldoni’s Mirandolina, and Clare Booth Luce’s The Women, directed by Anne Bogart. Currently celebrating their 28th season, the REP has earned unprecedented critical acclaim by amassing more than 100 DramaLogue Awards and San Diego’s Critics Circle Awards, more than any other local theatre, including the Old Globe and the La Jolla Playhouse. San Diego Repertory Theatre is the city’s most prominent downtown theatre.The third-largest professional theatre in San Diego, who employs over 800 artists, craftspeople, collaborators, and consultants a year, as well as serving audiences of 150,000 people each season.
