African American Art Show Celebrates Black History
Check out this great news article that was on the cover of the San Diego Voice & Viewpoint Newspaper this morning! They interviewed our head librarian Nicole Lewis and several of our students about the African American Art Show on display through February at the Spring Valley Library hosted by Platt.
The artwork featured along with the article is from Platt College student Freddie Richardson. He stated that it’s important he’s able to defy stereotypes about African American men by pursuing a career in art. You can read more about this exhibit and the work created by our students on the San Diego Voice & Viewpoint website.
The Power of Aesthetic Voices: Celebrating African American History Month will be on display through February at the Spring Valley branch of the San Diego County Library, located at 836 Kempton Street. There is no charge for the show.
You can also watch a live interview with Nicole on Channel 6 News this Sunday, 1/18/15. This is a live interview and the air time this Sunday is 9:20 AM sharp. You can visit the website below for more information.
