OUR TOP 10 PLATT COLLEGE SAN DIEGO STUDENT & ALUMNI DESIGNS FOR November 2014
Every month we like to take a moment to showcase some of our most popular student designs according to Instagram likes and comments. If you follow us on Instagram you know that we like to share art, video production projects, 3D animations, and designs from our talented digital media design students and alumni almost daily! It’s a great way to show off all the hard work our students put into not only their class projects, but any side projects they are working on as well.

#1 – Platt College student Tanisha Rose has a lovely collection of digital paintings showcased on her Behance Portfolio. We particularly liked this stunning portrait of the lovely Dita Von Teese. Nice work Tanisha!
#2 – Platt College student Seth Coronado created this lovely vector portrait in our Term 2 Illustrator class. For this project students are given the creative freedom to make a portrait of their choice using different techniques they learned in Adobe Illustrator. Great job Seth!
#3 – Platt College 3D Animation alumni Chard Escobar sculpted this incredible bust of actor Joseph Gordon Levitt. You can view more of Chard’s 3D work on his blog. Nice work Chard!
#4 – With the recent release of the new Jurassic World trailer this week we thought it would be fitting to share this awesome 3D T-Rex. Platt College 3D Animation alumni Jacob Roark created this and it was even featured in an issue of 3D Artist Magazine. You can view more work from Jacob on his Vimeo Profile. Great job Jacob!
#5 – Platt College VFX student Czarina Galac created this snowy compositing project using Adobe After Effects. The video includes a nice breakdown of her creative process so you can see the different elements she added to the scene. You can view more work from Czarina on her Vimeo profile. Great work Czarina!
#6 – Platt College alumni Brittni Knop has been sharing a lot of awesome #typography projects through her Instagram account lately. We really liked this elegant design she shared last month! You can view more designs from Brittni on her Instagram @uwhoitsme. Nice work Brittni!
#7 – Platt College 3D Animation student Andrea Valdez used the program Autodesk Maya to create this beautiful 3D still life. This project is for our Term 6 Special Effects class where students learn the lighting and rendering stages of the production pipeline using Mental Ray. This includes how to control shadows and reflections as well as rendering different materials like glass and metal. You can see more of Andrea’s work on Vimeo. Nice work Andrea!
