Congratulations to Platt College student Dennis Santarinala!
Last month several of our students had the opportunity to have their work submitted to the 2015 Addy Awards here in San Diego. One of those students was Dennis Santarinala who submitted some of his amazing fashion photography and took home a silver (2nd place) award in the Student Showcase portion.
For those of you that may be unfamiliar with the ADDY’s, it’s the advertising industry’s largest competition that attracts over 40,000 entries every year. The goal of the ADDY’s is to reward the most creative and inspiring designers for their work in the realm of advertising.
We couldn’t be more honored to have one of our students amongst the winners this year here in San Diego. When we asked Dennis about his experience creating his winning project and participating in the ADDY’s for the first time this is what he had to say…..
“It was an incredible experience to produce the editorial pieces we submitted to the ADDY’s. It’s even more exciting I get to represent Platt College San Diego to compete at this prestigious level. This proud and joyous moment is priceless! Thank you to all who participated at our photoshoot in Rowland Heights. It was a nice sunny day without electricity at that rundown house and those two hours were full of creativity and I wouldn’t have done it if not for the team I worked with. I’d like to thank the wardrobe stylists: Leilani Lacson and Bonichiwa for helping with the research and keeping period correct outfits, hairstylist Jamie Gatlin and ,make up artist Sunny An, special effects make up by Leibi Carias, my assistants Anton Francisco and Alex Pascual, and the models Dianne Mount, Sarah Margolis, Bob Margolis, John Kilar, Stephen Akira and Cameron Lee.
I am very proud to represent Platt College receiving the Silver and nomination to compete at the next level which is District 15. Congratulations to all who were nominated and to those awarded winners for their stellar work. Thank you to God for giving me a wonderful talent and skill so I can help inspire others.”
Thank you Dennis for sharing your experience with us. Your work is truly inspiring. We can’t wait to see what’s next for you and your career. You can read more about Dennis Santarinala and his beautiful photography in our Student Spotlight blog as well!
